At age ten, I had to prepare myself for a life without seafood. Succulent shrimps, scrumptious shellfish and delicately flavorful tuna sashimi were among the many offerings of the ocean I had to give up.
Fifteen years later, I’ve gotten used to my seafood allergy. Though the selection in freshwater ponds and lakes is very limited, I could still get my fill of fish, after all.
Whether or not you’re allergic to seafood, I bet some of my favorite freshwater fare would please your palate as well. Here are a few of my finds in Manila and Cebu.
