Behind the Scenes at the July 2012 MEGA Stylephile Shoot

Believe it or not, Lanee Keh-Tan, interior designer and co-owner of home décor and furniture showroom Maison 68, had given birth only three months before the MEGA Stylephile shoot for the July 2012 issue. With her youthful glow and sweet, amiable personality, she looks more like a girl fresh out of college than a new mom!

The only thing about Lanee that hints at the fact that she is a new mother is how busy she is these days, taking care of the family business and Maison 68 while "juggling with adjustments with mommyhood," as she puts it. But she seems to be having a good time as she juggles everything in style.

Check out these behind the scenes photos from the shoot and see for yourself.

Eduard Francisco of Bench Fix did Lanee's hair while Tina Sevilla of The Face Shop dolled her up. She was photographed by Ed Simon and directed by Yselle "Ysa" Reyes, who also did the art direction for last month's Stylephile featuring Nadine Howell and this month's MEGAWOMAN featuring Katrina Ponce-Enrile.

Among the outfits Lanee chose for the shoot, my top pick would have to be this dainty, fresh and sophisticated number: a silk floral tulip dress from Zara, Manolo Blahnik bejeweled heels, a bangle from Panopio and dangling earrings by Vida Lim. Too bad I forgot to take closeup shots of her accessories 'cause the bangle and the earrings are just so lovely!

Among the things Lanee loves to collect are belts, and she owns quite a variety! The ones above are her favorites from Hermès.

Clear Winners

Photo from the MEGAWOMAN shoot featuring Katrina Ponce-Enrile

If you've read my behind the scenes post on the MEGAWOMAN shoot featuring Katrina Ponce-Enrile, there is a pretty good chance that the above photo caught your eye. You're probably thinking, Where can I get my hands on one?!

As a neat freak myself, I hunted for a similar organizer for my beauty boudoir that would help me breeze through my morning makeup routine and add even more fun to the primping process. I went to Muji and hit the jackpot with this:

I keep my daily essentials in the top drawer so I can keep the lid open as I put some slap on. A multipurpose acrylic box with two sliding drawers and a lid, it is also perfect for organizing other things like accessories and office/school supplies.

Howards Storage World also has great options, though the photos above are from the HSW Australia website. Check out their local stores at Shangri-la Plaza Mall and Robinsons Place Ermita and you just might get lucky!

Behind the Scenes at the July 2012 MEGAWOMAN Shoot

Katrina Ponce-Enrile dishes about her career, motherhood, and her fashion and beauty favorites as this month's MEGAWOMAN.

One summer weekend, Katrina graciously welcomed the MEGA crew to her beautiful, earthy home in Makati City. Though it was something she "inherited" from her brother, she shared how she and her family have "slowly transformed it" to fit their lifestyle: "I wanted the house to be open and airy, simple and not cluttered, and I think we were able to do that."

While she does have a lot of space, it felt homey even to visitors. Perhaps her warm and spirited personality also had something to do with it. She gamely posed for photograph after photograph in her stylish but elegantly laidback ensembles, and revealed her collection of bags, shoes and makeup.

Everybody knows Katrina as President and CEO of JAKA Investments Corporation, but that afternoon, her girly side shone through. During the shoot, I heard the art director wondering aloud how she could get all the pairs of shoes to fit the frame, to Katrina's amusement. "I [even] have one [pair] that's really worn out but it's upstairs, I don't want you to see!" she exclaims, referring to her favorite black Prada boots.

But it was her makeup collection, part of which she houses in these clear acrylic makeup drawers that she bought online, that really left us awestruck. It's a great way of keeping easy, organized access to your tubes, pots and compacts, eliminating the need to rummage through opaque containers.

MEGA Doubles the Fun This July

Had a blast working on my assignments for MEGA's July 2012 issue, out now with two different covers featuring rising stars of the country's biggest networks.

There is the ABS-CBN cover with Xian Lim, Jessy Mendiola and Kathryn Bernardo, and the GMA cover featuring Sarah Lahbati, Kris Bernal, Alden Richards and Bela Padilla.

This month, I'll be blogging about what went on behind the scenes at the MEGAWOMAN shoot with powerhouse Katrina Ponce-Enrile, as well as the STYLEPHILE shoot with the sweet and talented Lanee Keh-Tan. The shoots and interviews for both features were done in one Saturday, but despite the hectic schedule, the crew had a lot of fun!

Also in this issue is my article on luxe, sustainable home furnishing store W17 and the vision of its owners, Kaye Tinga and Andrés Vázquez-Prada, that will surely make Pinoys worldwide proud.

Grab a copy (or two!) before they all fly off the newsstands!
