Her Royal Chicness

Can't believe it's the end of the month and the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, now William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is over.

A lot of stylistas were reportedly disappointed about the much-anticipated wedding dress, but I loved it. I think the Sarah Burton creation was simple and sophisticated with a hint of sexy, with the corset bodice and beautiful lace.

Definitely fit for a modern princess.

All That Jazz on AI

This is the duet I've been waiting for. Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart bring my kind of music to the Idol stage, singing Moanin' by Charles Mingus. Oh, and would you look at those threads! A sexy black lace dress and a snazzy suit spell hot.

Forever Chic

It's my grandma's birthday today! One of her sisters sent the cutest birthday card:

Hilarious!

It's perfect for my Lola Mama, who has always been beautiful and chic!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Lola!

A Sweet and Salty Surprise

I asked my mom to bring home a butterscotch bar or an apple fritter from Starbucks one night, but neither was available. She got me this Salted Caramel Pecan Bar instead, and now I'm hopelessly hooked.

It's a sweet, salty combination of chewy caramel, chocolate and nuts. Most people might prefer it with black coffee, tea or water to balance off the richness, but I think it's perfect with an iced White Chocolate Mocha.

Blame it on the sweet tooth!

The Glossies

I hardly go to nail spas or salons for manis and pedis because my mom, sister and I prefer to do our nails at home. When I had trouble taking off my glittery nail polish, though, I knew I needed professional help, and Toni&Guy did a great job. The manicurist told me to let my nails breathe for a while then apply a thin layer of clear polish like Orly's Glosser.

I've been using Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear polish in Invisible for the longest time, and I love how it makes my nails shiny and doesn't chip easily even if m

y work requires me to type a lot everyday. The Glosser is similar, but it also stays very glossy even after a week--as if you had just applied it.

Both brands are available at Landmark TriNoma at a little over 200PhP each.

Grendha the Great

My mom advised me to always be on the lookout for Grendha shoes and sandals in classic styles because we've proven how durable they are. They're made of molded plastic which also makes each pair very comfy and wet weather-friendly. The first few pairs we bought about four to five years ago are still pretty and wearable--I even wore one of my oldest Grendha sandals when I went trekking in Sagada. These babies are tough, I tell ya!

That's why when I spotted the Grendha Lisboa peep-toe ballet flats (above) last weekend, I knew I had to snap them up! My shoe rack welcomed the beige version, which I'm pretty sure will be among my regular favorites for a long, long time.

For those in the Philippines, Grendha is available at Shoe Salon. Click here for the list of branches.

Long-lasting Eyeliner for the Summer (and the Rest of the Year!)

Bobbi Brown's Long-wear Gel Eyeliner was named the Best Liquid/Gel Eyeliner by InStyle UK in its 100 Best Beauty Buys 2011 list. Makeup artist Lisa Valencia describes it as a liner that "glides on like a dream and lasts all day"--perfect for the summer heat and our year-round hot weather!

This would be great if you've got extra moolah to shell out, but if you want to save more for your vacay, Etude House has a good alternative.

Recommended by my friend Kang, the Code B Strong Eyes Cream Liner from Etude House is one of the recent additions to my makeup kit. It's a lot less expensive at 478.00PhP (versus Bobbi Brown's, which retails at 1,300.00PhP at Rustan's) but it's just as efficient.

It lasts all day and doesn't smudge, and the brush is very easy to work with. I have shaky hands and I'm usually terrible at lining my eyes, but with this thing I get the job done in two minutes. I just add a few coats of mascara and I'm ready to go!

Bobbi Brown is available at Rustan's Makati and Rustan's Shangri-la. Click here for the list of Etude House branches.

American Idol Power Couple

Haley Reinhart's been in the bottom three twice on American Idol but I've loved her since audition week! I'm glad she was able to reign in more fans the last couple weeks because she has been very underrated in my opinion.

Some of my favorites are her covers of Blue, You've Really Got a Hold on Me and Bennie and the Jets. I've added these tracks (along with some of Casey Abrams) to my Jazz/Blues playlist! I'd love to see both of them do more Billie Holiday and perhaps something by B.B. King and Etta James.

Haley is jazzy and bluesy with a whole lot of soul. Plus, I love her sexy, sophisticated style.

My number one bet, on the other hand, is Casey Abrams. I don't know why this guy even auditioned! I really don't think he needs AI to make it, but it would be awesome if he wins.

It looks like Casey has a better chance of making it to the top, but I'll definitely be among the first to buy Haley's album!

In the Pink

I'm beginning to go back to my ultra girly roots with touches of pink in my closet, on my desk and in my makeup kit!

Currently on heavy wardrobe rotation are skirts, tops, cardis, and accessories in pretty pink hues. Above are three pairs of studs I got from Forever21 last weekend. I've finally learned to rely on costume jewelry for casual days. They're fun and I don't have to worry so much about losing an earring!

I cut out little hearts to make a border for my cork board. My calendar is one of the first few gifts I received from my sweet boyfriend who knows how much I love anything that keeps me organized. I like how the color blends into the cork. For a personal touch, I pinned my name on it with a clothes tag from Kashieca. (Their tags are always extra chic!)

I'm using an old gift box as a pen holder, where I also keep scratch paper for quick notes. I have tons of other pens, pencils and markers (you know how much I love them!) which I keep in a pencil case I take with me everywhere. For other supplies like my stapler, eraser, glue and clips, I use a pretty box with a pink ribbon which my friend Robelle gave me along with a nice necklace on my last birthday. I also made origami fortune tellers for my paper clips. They need their own container for easy access because I use them a lot. Another gift is the nylon pink and white zebra print envelope I pinned on the board, where I keep work-related calling cards.

My desk is never without my laptop and planner. My compact Moleskine is my favorite so far because it has enough space for my to-do lists but is light and small enough to carry around. When I'm on the go, I use my smartphone to do presentation drafts, write reports and take notes, but I always need my planner to jot down things to do. Since high school, I've had this habit of drawing a box before each item to tick as soon as I get it done!

Supplies and decor in blushing shades are scattered all over my office desk. With the color palette of pink, beige and black in mind, it was so easy to put everything together and make a cute cubicle that's very conducive to work.

I'm also switching up the color of my nails with a healthy glow of pink! Last month was all about nail glitter and shine, but this April I'm going with Silk Stockings from Orly's French Manicure Color Collection. Other pinks from the Sheer Crémes line are just as sweet, like Bare Rose and Pink Nude.

All of a sudden I'm also missing my Barbie dolls! I definitely have to look for them one weekend. I just might get some outfit inspiration from my old bag of Barbie clothes.

The little girl in me is squealing with excitement!
