Mercato Sunday #1: Wacky Bob's, Kenacotta and Empire Macarons

My friends have been raving about Mercato Centrale at Bonifacio Global City since late last year, but it was not until yesterday that I actually got to check it out. Now my boyfriend and I want to make Mercato a weekend habit!

Wacky Bob's Bulalo (NOTE: The owners plan to come out with a "buzzing new name" soon, so stay tuned for that!)

We arrived around 11:30 a.m. It was a warm, sunny day but that didn't stop us from having some piping hot bulalo from Wacky Bob's. One order is good for two and served with rice.

Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the broth wasn't very oily. I usually don't have a lot of soup when eating bulalo because it's typically too greasy, but this was not. Needless to say, it was dangerously good.

Empire Macarons
You know how much I love macarons, so for dessert, we had Empire Macarons. We were too late, though--the only flavors left were strawberry and white chocolate! They were both really good, but the strawberry was a little too sweet for me. I wish they had more of the white chocolate and pistachio left. Next time we'll drop by early in the morning!

Maltesers Panna Cotta at Kenacotta

Maltesers Panna Cotta at Kenacotta was the cherry on top of our visit. It was a perfect combination of creamy but light panna cotta and a generous topping of Maltesers.

Iced lemon water with mint at Kenacotta
Kenacotta also sells iced lemon water with mint, which was very refreshing. If you plan to indulge your sweet tooth at Mercato, I recommend that you take a glass of this with you to cleanse the palate in between dessert stalls!

There are still so many other dishes and desserts we'd love to try. We'll definitely be back soon!
