I've been either too busy or too lazy to chronicle my meals, hence the lack of The CityLifeStylist Eats updates. Good thing I managed to take a few shots during my recent trip to Cyma at TriNoma.
This was not my first time at the Greek resto, but I'm only reviewing it now because this time I actually remembered to take photos before attacking the plates! I was dining with a friend, and we started with pita bread and Melitzanosalata, a mix of roasted eggplant, tomatoes, garlic, lemon and extra virgin olive oil. It tasted fresh and tangy, but you have to eat the bread right away 'cause it gets tough and tastes like cardboard when it cools.
We also shared the Watermelon and Lamb Salad, which had black olives, sunflower seeds, fresh mint and Feta cheese (served on the side because of my allergies.) I usually play it safe with chicken or beef because I get a little queasy at the thought of lamb, but I really enjoyed this. The combination of grilled lamb, watermelon and the minty summer herb vinaigrette was surprisingly refreshing.
We were already quite full because the servings were too big for us, but we just had to try the molten chocolate cake, Skolatina, served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. It's crispy on the outside with gooey chocolate in the middle that made it a little too sweet. The crispy part combined with some caramel and ice cream, though, is heavenly.
