Style Icon: Olivia Palermo

Classic and contemporary. Feminine and androgynous. Sophisticated and quirky. Looking beyond her work issues on MTV's The City, one would be easily drawn to Olivia Palermo's distinct style that displays a constant play on chic contrasts.

Olivia looks effortless in menswear-inspired looks finished off with ladylike accessories--a classic bag, stiletto pumps, a statement ring and cat-eye sunglasses.

A master at mixing and matching different color palettes, she can throw on an unconventional ensemble and still look completely put together. Here, Olivia also wears a necklace of her own design--a piece from the Roberta Freymann by Olivia Palermo collection.

Whether she's strutting down the street in a button-down top, structured skirt and heels or a casual gray suit and flat oxfords, Olivia always exudes a natural sophistication.

Olivia's shoe closet isn't limited to the staples, either. She slips into the occasional pair of sneakers and leopard print ballet flats as well. For casual days, she can go from sporty (above, left) to glam (above, right) with basic pieces spiced up with accessories.

Her wardrobe is infused with frills and florals, too. Above, Olivia takes on softer silhouettes and dainty pieces.

Trimming down the photos for this post was difficult because this lady has tons of snazzy shots I couldn't help but snap up. I'm already excited to post a part two!
