Style Icon: Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez is a stylish standout among her fellow teen queens. Whether she's grocery shopping or strutting down the red carpet, this perky Disney star definitely dazzles.

Polka dots have never looked this classy. Selena sashays down the red carpet in a gorgeous black frock that I would love to own! Balancing just the right amount of funk and sophistication, the dress has Selena written all over it.

Selena looks sexy without showing a lot of skin. The knotted belt gives a youthful spin to her silver gray dress and matching heels.

A casual tee becomes chic when paired with jeans that fit just right and black patent ballet flats. Oh, and notice her beautiful black locks. It looks great--wavy or straight!

These ballet flats seem to be her casual wardrobe staple. Simple pieces like Selena's long-sleeved tee and dark skinnies look cool and classy. Stock up on the basics in these neutral colors--they'll take you a long way.

Hope with style icons like Selena, kids will dress less skimpily and more classily, without losing their youthful vibe.

Style Guy-ed

I enjoy checking out men's fashion as much as I enjoy shopping for myself. I love how most of my guy friends (straight and gay!) have fun dressing up and each have their own distinct style. Posting their photos would mean violent reactions and lots of blackmail from all of them, so I'm putting some of their style inspirations in the spotlight instead!

Kanye's preppy cardigan over a collared shirt, jeans and sneakers definitely looks charming. It's stylish without going overboard. One thing you should just leave with Kanye and really avoid wearing yourself is that pair of shutter shades (not in the photo). It used to look cool and, well, it still does--on Kanye!

Adam Brody has the typical boy-next-door style--comfy, laid-back but not sloppy. Throwing on a simple tee or button-down shirt-jeans-and-sneakers outfit isn't bad, as long as the shirt's not too small or too big, and the jeans aren't too tight or too loose that they're already revealing underwear! ;-P

T.I. is lookin' good in a light gray suit. Gray, silver and white make a fresh ensemble that's easy on the eyes. It's a great alternative to the classic black suit (which still works, of course.)

Right now I'm really digging the skinny ties the Jonas Brothers have been sporting. If you're looking for one, I found some at Topman recently.

It's fun seeing well-dressed men around. It makes us ladies feel good knowing we're not the only ones making the effort to look fabulous! ;-)

Take a Bow...

...a bow tie, that is!

We've nabbed boyfriend shirts, men's trousers, neckties, vests, waiter jackets and all sorts of menswear and made them all work for us, so we might as well add the bow tie to the list.

Model Irina Lazareanu donned one to match her tuxedo dress, but you need not wear a tux to use this snazzy accessory.

Wear it with a crisp collared top that's long-sleeved, quarter-sleeved, sleeveless... or even a halter!

Watch this video on how to tie a bow tie and you're good to go! Then again you can also grab one that's ready-to-wear. There are lots of colors to choose from at the men's department of The Landmark at TriNoMa, but black will always be your best bet! ;-)
