Chic Notes

When I was little, I was really obsessed with Lisa Frank products -- stationery, stickers, albums, autograph books... you name it. Actually, I still love Lisa Frank! I also had Sanrio notebooks, folders and other school supplies, ranging from the sweet Hello Kitty and Little Twin Stars to the rebellious Bad Badtz Maru.

It was probably both the girly-girl and the little nerd in me that got me into cute and funky school stuff. I still look forward to back-to-school shopping, which is why I still cannot really imagine life after college. It's a good thing that I'm a writer, so I can take comfort in the fact that I am definitely going to be using notebooks forever.

I haven't grown completely out of the Lisa Frank phase yet, but I do have a new favorite in the notebook scene -- Jordi Labanda.

It's difficult to find these notebooks nowadays. Last year, Fully Booked had loads of Jordi Labanda notebooks in so many different sizes and designs that you'd have to spend more than 15 minutes deciding which one to buy. These days, you're lucky if you get your hands on one. Lucky for me, I always do my back-to-school shopping very early so I was already able to get one for next semester.

Whether you're a student or already working, a gal can never be too old for chic notebooks!

Join the hunt for Jordi Labanda notebooks at Fully Booked (SM North EDSA The Block, Power Plant Mall, Gateway Mall).

i love labanda items! you should check out ebay for the cute jordi purses and tees. also i'm happy to spread the word, there's this shop (i think it used to be the popular toy store Nova Fontana from the late 80's) in greenhills shopesville arcade that sells binders and bags from Lisa Frank, really cheapo stuff.

Hi, Neu Shen!

Thanks for the tip. I hope they still have the old designs! I'm definitely going to look for that store. ^_^

I have been in LOVE with Jordi Labanda notebooks ever since my best friend brought me back one from Barcelona about 4 years ago. I never leave home without one and call it my "diva notebook." I've turned many friends onto this writer's-habit and have a collection of something like 15-20 "jordi's" currently. LOVE them!!!!!
