Yesterday, my best friend and I went to the MAC counter at Rustan's at the Shangri-La Plaza mall to check out the launch of the Barbie Loves MAC makeup line. When I wrote an entry on that last week, I didn't know that the makeup line wasn't available in the Philippines yet. Yesterday, I was finally able to try on some of the products.
The ones that really stood out from the whole cosmetic line were the lipsticks and eyeliners. The rest were pretty blah except for the packaging! (You really have to fight that girly urge to buy things you don't need just because the packaging is cute.)
We loved the Liquidlast Liner (1,000Php) that came in Classic Cream (white gold), Visionaire (baby pink) and Point Black (true black) but we figured that we won't be using it very often so we decided not to buy it. They're pretty on the eyes, though. The gold eyeliner is good for morenas and chinitas, while the pink one suits mestizas better. They're perfect for nights out!
My best friend and I both bought lipsticks (900Php each). I got Style It Up, while J got Real Doll. Described as a "light muted pink with a subtle gold pearl," Style It Up actually looks like a peachy nude shade on my lips. It flatters chinitas (like me!) and morenas. Real Doll, on the other hand, is a "light bubblegum pink" that looks very sweet and natural on mestizas. It looked too Barbie-ish on me, which was actually the POINT of the whole line, but then again I didn't want to go that girly.
Visit a MAC. counter (available at Rustan's) and check out all the goodies! You might still be able to get a free yummy Barbie cookie from Art Cakes, too!
Have fun, Barbie girls! ;-)
